From the blog

There isn’t too many old disco records out that have a gaggle of remixes and re-edits doing what they can to breathe life back into them. Jimmy Ross’s 1981 debut album “First True Love Affair” is one of those albums. There are two tracks that are definitely getting the works right now in the re-edit world right now. Album single “First True Love Affair” has gotten remixed by Larry Levan, DJ Butcher, Ziggy Phunk, and Eddie Tour, just to name a few. Recently, “Fall Into A Trance” was just reimagined by Shit Hot Soundsystem off the “In Heavy Rotation” EP. And those tracks definitely deserve it! There is no reason for future generations to not groove to them. However, these two tracks can stand on their own two feet when they need to get rear ends in gear on the dance floor. (I’ve played both of them out and can reassure you this.) Jimmy Ross’s sound is a lot like Denroy Morgan. It kind of makes sense due to the fact that Ross is from Trinidad. The cool thing is his sound is more like Morgan’s disco than reggae. (Not that any if it is bad. In fact I wrote a post about this.)

This whole album is a great disco adventure! All the tracks are great disco burners with the exception of oddball “Love Will Never Die.” Good luck trying to find this album for a respectable price. Right now it’s fetching an average price of about $30.00 on Discogs. So if you do run across this album in the wild. Make sure you pick it up
